Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf MNA Ayesha Gulalai has quit the party. She was in the National Assembly on a reserved seat from South Waziristan.
In a facebook post Gulalai said "due to immoral character of Imran Khan and the gang around him, calling PTI workers "worthless" and "chotay workers" and rampant corruption by Imran Khan's agent Pervez Khattak in KP, MNA Ayesha Gulalai Wazir has left PTI
Earlier, Naz Baloch also left PTI saying it was a 'male chauvinist' party. Naz Baloch was central vice president of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. She ran for election to the national assembly from Constituency NA-240 in May 2013 as a candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Her ethnically Baloch father, Abdullah Baloch, is a high-ranking member of Pakistan Peoples Party in Karachi. She turned down the option of joining the family party to join PTI. She is the only woman in her family to have taken part in party politics, as it is uncommon for Baloch women to take part in public affairs. On 11 May 2013, she was the only women contestant in the constituency and was the runner-up, receiving 20,000 votes. She has bachelor's degree in economics from St. Joseph's College and joined PTI in August 2011.
On 16 July 2017, Naz Baloch joined Pakistan Peoples Party leaving her party affiliation with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
PTI, led by cricketer-turned politician Imran Khan, remained in forefront to oppose Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government in Pakistan and fought a successful legal battle against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in Panama Papers case, which resulted in downfall of Sharif under corruption charges.
PTI was indulging in the practices as an overwhelming number of its supporters have repeatedly abused prominent women politicians and also public figures. There are examples of Malala Yousafzai, Asma Jahangir, Reham Khan and Maryam Nawaz and also Dr Shireen Mazari and her daughter were abused mercilessly when the former had left the party for some time in 2012.
According to Deputy Information Secretary, of PTI Rana Nadeem Ahmed, MNA Ayesha Gulalai quit Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) after she was denied ‘advance confirmation’ for the NA-1 constituency.
The worst effect of this has been the ‘official’ response from PTI’s Fawad Chaudhry. In his response, Chaudhry called Gulalai an opportunist and a sell-out. Furthermore, he went as far as claiming that she was being used by PML-N. But he did not stop there either, as he went on to make derogatory remarks about Gulalai’s sister, Maria Wazir Toorpakai, the famous squash player. He accused Wazir of “maligning” Pakhtun culture by wearing shorts.
