The first Pakistan owned early harvest wind power project has been constructed in the province of Sindh.
The project is the result of collaboration under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and has started commercial operation. Developed by Sachal Energy Development (Pvt) Limited, the 49.5 MW facility covers over 680m acres of land in the Jhimpir Wind Corridor and was financed by the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China.

After receiving formal notification from the Power Purchasing Agency (Guarantee) Limited, the company has been commissioned to the supply of electricity for 20 years under an energy purchase agreement through the National Transmission and Dispatch Company.
Manufactured by the Goldwind Company of china, the project consists of 33 wind turbine generators whereas the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) is under HydroChina. The project is the first of its kind to receive 100% financial backing by the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China.
