Pakistan's notable reformist cleric Tahir Ul Qadri, while reiterating his demand of making Justice Syed Ali Baqir Najafi’s report public, blamed ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif for their direct involvement in the incident.

This is notable that intra-party elections of the Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) were held on September 17, Qazi Muhammad Zahid from Sindh was elected as Central President (CP) and Khurram Nawaz Gandapur was elected and Secretary General (SG). Basharat Jaspal, Fayyaz Warraich and Muhammad Mushtaq were elected Presidents of Central Punjab, South Punjab and North Punjab respectively.
