Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) formed a foreign relations committee (FRC)

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) formed a 10-member foreign relations committee (FRC) with Senator Sherry Rehman as its convener.

 

The committee, which was constituted by PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, comprises Sherry Rehman, Saleem Mandviwala, Farhatullah Babar, Faisal Karim Kundi, Fauzia Habib, Matloob Inquilabi, Palwasha Khan, Hina Rabbani Khar, Imran Nadeem and Fateh Muhammed Hasni.

 

Sherry Rehman is a Pakistani politician and diplomat who currently serves as a member of the Senate of Pakistan from Sindh, in office since 2015. Previously she served as Pakistan's Ambassador to the United States from 2011 and 2013.

 

This is also noted that in 2010, she tabled a bill seeking to abolish the death penalty for blasphemy, as a result she was placed under police surveillance after receiving death threats. Rehman was accused of committing "blasphemy, a crime that carries the death penalty" in Pakistan" in connection with a 2010 TV talk show." Her accusers went to the Pakistan "Supreme Court with his complaint after police refused to register it. The court ordered police in the central Pakistani city of Multan to investigate."

 

Senator Saleem H. Mandviwalla was the Chairman of the Board of Investment and Minister of State for Investment of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, a position he held from October 2008 till May 2013. Prior to his appointment, he was the President of the Lasbela Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Lasbela, Balochistan. He was appointed Minister of Finance on 19 February 2013 till 7 June 2013.

 

Farhatullah Babar is a Pakistani technocrat, left-wing statesman, Chemical engineer, and former press secretary of the former President Asif Zardari. Prior to this appointment, Babar was the senator of Pakistan Peoples Party for the Senate from 2003 till 2006; he earned public limelight after giving criticism to the government Prime minister Shaukat Aziz and President Pervez Musharraf.

 

Faisal Karim Kundi (born January 1, 1975) was elected Deputy Speaker, National Assembly of Pakistan on 19 March 2008. He had been elected as the youngest Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly. His father Mr Fazal Karim Kundi had defeated Maulana Fazal-ur Rehman in 1990 on PPP ticket. His maternal grandfather, Justice (Retd) Faizulllah Khan Kundi served as federal minister with Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

 

Fateh Muhammad Hassani is a Pakistani Politician and Member of Senate of Pakistan, currently serving as Chairperson-Senate Committee on Ports and Shipping. He belongs to Baluchistan province of Pakistan, and was elected to the Senate of Pakistan in March 2012 on a general seat as Pakistan Peoples Party candidate.

 

Hina Rabbani Khar is a Pakistani politician who served as the 26th Foreign Minister of Pakistan from February 2011 until March 2013. She remains the youngest person and the first woman to have held the position.
